The dynamics of labor, including Lamaze Healthy Birth Practices, Stages and phases of labor, pain verses suffering in Labor, essentials of labor support, and coping strategies /comfort methods will be covered. We will also review the risks/benefits of Interventions and pain management. Postpartum adjustments and preparations, breastfeeding basics and newborn care – including Stages of Consiousness in Newborns, Soothing Techniques, and Finding Support Groups, Pediatricians, and Resources – will also be explored in depth. Each session will include open discussion, hands-on and experiential practices, additional resource suggestions, and lots of laughter for an open, inviting, and community-centered learning experience.
