Meet other future moms in Harlem and the Upper West Side and feel more comfortable and confident during your pregnancy in Harlem Yoga Studio’s prenatal yoga classes. This class teaches movements and yoga poses to strengthen and tone the muscles and organs needed for labor and delivery and to alleviate common discomforts such as swelling, back pain, constipation and varicose veins. An emphasis is placed on soothing, relaxing breath work and meditation, giving you space to connect deeply with your innate wisdom to nurture your baby and to enjoy the miraculous process of pregnancy and birth.

Our goal is to make you feel welcome, well cared for, calm, and confident with each class. Our prenatal classes are for women at all stages of pregnancy. No previous yoga experience necessary.


Fridays – 12:30PM

** Note – We are on the 3rd floor of a walk-up and our stroller storage is very limited so if possible we recommend that you wear your baby or bring your smallest stroller **

This class is for mothers and newborns (infant to crawling) provides gentle stretching, deep breathing, and moving with your baby. Connect with other moms in Harlem and the Upper West Side and share ideas, concerns and information. The class is relaxed and flexible so that you can feed your baby and walk around the room whenever you need to. Postnatal yoga helps to rebuild core strength, tone back and pelvic muscles, and release tension in the shoulders and chest. Babies get their very first taste of yoga with massage and movement.


Harlem Yoga Studio’s intimate, warm, childbirth education series will prepare couples to better understand the many choices that expectant parents face with a combination of prenatal yoga techniques and evidence based Lamaze Theory.
Each class will integrate relaxation techniques and partner  support poses from Prenatal Yoga, followed by comprehensive, led discussion.  Parents will learn what questions they need to ask in order to make informed decisions about their labor and delivery. The dynamics of labor, including Lamaze Healthy Birth Practices, Stages and phases of labor, pain verses suffering in Labor, essentials of labor support, and coping strategies /comfort methods will be covered. We will also review the risks/benefits of Interventions and pain management.  Postpartum adjustments and preparations, breastfeeding basics and newborn care – including Stages of Consiousness in Newborns, Soothing Techniques, and Finding Support Groups, Pediatricians, and Resources – will also be explored in depth.  Each session will include open discussion, hands-on and experiential practices, additional resource suggestions, and lots of laughter for an open, inviting, and community-centered learning experience.

Myla Flores

Course facilitated by Myla Flores, a certified Lamaze Childbirth Educator with an interactive teaching style inspired by trainings with Birthing From Within and Passion for Birth. Having also observed Bradley and Hypnobirthing classes, Myla is comfortable adapting to participants’ needs, hoping to bring the best of many methods. Her unique background in theater, psychology, and drama therapy have influenced her approach to Childbirth Education, as she guides couples through exercises involving self-discovery and expression, which she believes is essential for childbirth preparation.

Myla is a DONA birth doula, postpartum doula, Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator, photographer, and Certified Lactation Counselor. My Loving Doula Birth Services is her private practice based in Upper Manhattan.

Classes are in 3-week sessions
