Happy New Years Yogis!

Our theme of January is Tapas.

Tapas, the third of Patanjalis Niyamas, is  derived from the root Sanskrit verb ‘to burn’, and is often described as discipline, passion, or commitment to burn away impurities and spark our inner fire.

The New Year is a time when many of us make Resolutions – commitments to mentally, physically, and emotionally set up the year ahead for our greatest health, happiness, and success.

However, while resolutions are expressed outwardly, the true fire comes from within.  To truly spark our own inner fire, we must look within, and commit not to others, but to ourselves.

Coming up  at HYS. . .

CHILDBIRTH EDUCATION

Our  next Childbirth Education Intensive is February 10th through 12th.
This comprehensive course is for expectant parents giving birth at birth center, hospital, or home.  Geared toward pregnant women (and their partners), with desire for an interactive learning experience, who want to understand birth and the many topics surrounding it.  Discussion of pregnancy, labor & birth help mom find her own readiness and connection to body, and partners find a sense of confidence in how to support her.  Newborn care & breastfeeding topics will help parents to get a sense of what they can expect as they navigate through their first weeks with their newborn.
